About The Research

The research that is the foundation of this report was conducted by Paramore in partnership with Gray Research Solutions in late 2017 and includes both qualitative and quantitative methods. During the qualitative phase, we interviewed DMO leaders across the country. After more than a dozen interviews, we compiled the research, spotted the trends, fact-checked for accuracy and went back to the participants for further thoughts on our findings. To validate our insights further, we created a survey based on our report and sent the survey to the membership lists of Southeast Tourism Society, DMA West, and our own database of contacts in the industry. We received more than 100 responses to that survey.
